Get a lawnchair and put it in a poorly built shed. Now sit in it.

that’s because you’ve never driven one.
I did, and I would never ever buy one.
I guess t’s the same reason as fr the original mini, the bug, or the original 500. they are charming little econoboxes from a simpler time, when you didn’t need AC, leather upholstery, and a fancy speakersystem.
I’d still not get one.

To be honest, I don’t either. I’ve heard that they really aren’t that great to drive. The DS also doesn’t do it for me.

You also need to have some one tilt the shed at a 45 degree angle while turning a steering wheel.

It’s easier to understand if you don’t think of it as a car.
It’s more like if you find some sort of mechanism you’ve never seen before, and you look at it and figure out how it works. And that’s easy to do with a 2cv because so much of the mechanism is so simple and so visible, and the more you look at it the more clever the whole thing gets. In that way it’s easy to have a deep respect for the things.
But as a car, they’re pretty crappy.
